Nurse Wins $11.8M Verdict for Disability Accommodation Denial
A registered nurse on a compliance team sued the County of Los Angeles under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act after the County repeatedly failed to provide workplace accommodations for her physical disabilities, including a task chair, anti-fatigue mat, and sit-and-stand workstation. The jury found the County's failure to accommodate was a substantial factor in causing harm and awarded $11,845,510 in past and future economic and noneconomic damages.
