Account Settings

Manage your profile, security, and notification preferences.

6 min read

The Account Settings page lets you manage your profile information, security, and notification preferences. Access it from Dashboard → Settings in the sidebar.

#Profile Information

The Profile section shows your name, email, and avatar synced from your Clerk account. To update your name or avatar, click the profile card, which opens Clerk's account management UI.

#Password

Change your password from the Password section. If you signed up with a social provider (Google, LinkedIn), you may not have a password set — you can add one here.

#Connected Accounts

View and manage social login providers connected to your account.

#Email Notifications

The Email Notifications card lets you control which emails you receive — and how often. Each user-controllable category has a frequency picker, and changes save instantly.

The Email Notifications card. At top: an 'Always sent' banner listing account security, billing receipts, and subscription changes. Below: rows for each user-controllable category — New messages & inquiries, Anonymous & unclaimed outreach, Trial reminders, Subscription & renewal reminders, Profile & engagement nudges, Activity digests & insights, Concierge updates, Product news. Each row has a label, short description, expandable 'What's included · Last sent N days ago' link, and a frequency dropdown on the right (Real-time / Daily digest / Weekly digest / On / Off). At the bottom: a 'View recent notifications sent to you →' link.

#Frequency options

Each category exposes only the frequency choices that make sense for it:

FrequencyWhat it means
Real-timeEach event triggers an email as soon as it happens
Daily digestEvents collected through the day and sent as one email at 9 AM UTC (per-user local time once timezone is on file — see below)
Weekly digestEvents collected through the week and sent Monday 9 AM UTC (same local-time caveat)
OnSend normally (for categories with only one cadence)
OffDon't send

Digests currently fire at 9 AM UTC. Per-user local-time delivery is supported on the backend and will roll out once a settings field for timezone ships; in the meantime, contact support if you need a non-UTC delivery slot.

#Categories

CategoryWhat it controlsDefault
New messages & inquiriesReal human-to-human messages from attorneys and inquiries from claimed engagementsReal-time (Daily allowed; can't be fully off)
Anonymous & unclaimed outreachCold outreach + interactions on unclaimed profilesReal-time
Trial remindersReminders before and during your 90-day trialOn
Subscription & renewal remindersRenewal reminders and subscription noticesOn
Profile & engagement nudgesCompletion reminders, milestones, re-engagement, website reactivationWeekly (batched, not real-time)
Activity digests & insightsProfile views, search appearances, weekly analyticsWeekly
Concierge updatesStatus of concierge-managed engagementsReal-time
Product news & announcementsNew features, tips, and platform announcementsOn

Heads up: "New messages & inquiries" cannot be fully turned off. You can switch it to a Daily digest, but the platform won't hide real messages from attorneys actively trying to reach you. The other categories all support full Off.

#Always sent (you can't turn these off)

Some emails bypass your preferences because they're required for the product to function or for legal/compliance reasons:

  • Account security — password resets, login alerts, claim verification
  • Billing receipts — invoice receipts, payment confirmations, payment failures
  • Subscription state changes — cancellations, trial conversion confirmations
  • Account & legal — firm invitations accepted, membership changes

These appear at the top of the card as an "Always sent" informational banner.

#What's included · Last sent

Each row has an expandable section listing the specific email types in that category, plus a "Last sent X ago" timestamp pulled from your actual send history. Use it to verify a notification you expected went out.

The "View recent notifications sent to you" link at the bottom opens a modal with your last 50 events, each timestamped.

Tip: "Profile & engagement nudges" defaults to Weekly so completion reminders don't pepper your inbox daily. If you'd rather see them as they happen, switch it to Real-time.

#In-App Notifications

A bell icon in the top navigation shows a badge with your unread count. Click it to open a dropdown of the 10 most recent notifications.

The top nav with a bell icon and circular amber badge showing the unread count. The popover dropdown shows three notification cards: each with a sender name in bold, message preview, and a relative timestamp ('2h ago'). Unread items have a subtle amber tint. At the bottom: a 'View all notifications →' link.

  • Click a thread-based notification (new message, contact message, inquiry response) — you'll deep-link to the conversation and the item is marked read.
  • Mark all as read — one click clears your unread badge.
  • View all — opens the full /notifications page with paginated history.

The bell refreshes every 30 seconds while the tab is open, so new attorney activity surfaces without a reload.

Tip: The in-app feed shows every notification regardless of email frequency. Even if "New messages" is set to Daily digest, individual messages still appear in the bell as they happen — email frequency controls how we batch emails, not what shows in-app.

#Active Sessions

View all devices and browsers where you're currently logged in. You can revoke any session you don't recognize.

#Danger Zone

The Danger Zone section at the bottom of the page lets you permanently delete your account. This action:

  • Deletes your expert profile, analytics, and all associated data
  • Cannot be undone

You'll be asked to confirm before deletion proceeds.
