Viral Goradia

Dr. Viral Goradia, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist with triple subspecialty board certifications in Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and General Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. Based in Binghamton, New York, he holds an appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, and serves as Associate Residency Training Director and Medical Director of Addiction Medicine at United Health Services. Dr. Goradia completed his Psychiatry Residency at Upstate Medical University, followed by fellowships in Addiction Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Forensic Psychiatry at Upstate Medical University, as well as a Visiting Fellowship in Electroconvulsive Therapy at Columbia University. He has served in multiple medical director roles across inpatient, emergency, and community mental health settings, including the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at UHS Hospital and Delaware County Behavioral Health. As a forensic expert, Dr. Goradia has been retained in civil litigation matters involving fitness-for-duty evaluations and cases against correctional and law enforcement agencies. He is an active peer reviewer for CNS Spectrums and the Cureus Journal of Medical Science, has authored peer-reviewed publications on topics including buprenorphine delivery and insomnia pharmacotherapy, and has presented at national and regional psychiatric conferences.
