Robert B. Handfield
Career
Robert B. Handfield is the Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at North Carolina State University, a position he has held since 1999. He is also the Executive Director of the Supply Chain Resource Cooperative at NC State. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Purchasing and Operations Management at Michigan State University from 1995 to 1999, and an Assistant Professor at the same institution from 1992 to 1995.
Education
Handfield received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990, with a dissertation titled "A Study of Factors Affecting Delivery Speed in Make-to-Order Manufacturing." He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of British Columbia, obtained in 1985.
