Margaret "Lisa" Browne

Margaret 'Lisa' Browne, BSN, OB-RNC is a Registered Nurse with over 37 years of inpatient obstetrical experience. Based in Valencia, California, she has spent the bulk of her career at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA (1991–present), where she provides expert nursing care to laboring and high-risk antenatal patients, interprets fetal nonstress tests, evaluates triage presentations including preterm labor, and circulates Cesarean Sections with post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) responsibilities. She frequently serves as a relief charge nurse. Her earlier career included staff and charge nursing roles in obstetrics and psychiatry at hospitals in California and Florida. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami and is nationally certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (OB-RNC). She maintains additional certifications in Advanced Fetal Monitoring, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program, as well as an Applied Health Informatics Certificate obtained in 2019. As an expert witness and published author, Lisa has contributed peer-reviewed articles to The Journal of Legal Nurse Consulting on topics including postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-related stroke, and peripartum sepsis. She is an active member of AWHONN and currently chairs the Disability Special Interest Group within the AWHONN Accountability, Belonging, and Culture Committee.
