Laura Chung

Laura Bouchard Chung is a seasoned adult critical care registered nurse with 26 years of direct bedside experience in hospital intensive care settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing: Leadership in Healthcare Systems (Graduate Honors) from Regis University in 2011 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Cum Laude) from Seton Hall University in 2000. She holds active certifications as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and maintains current BLS and ACLS credentials. Laura has spent nearly two decades as an Intensive Care Staff Nurse, Rapid Response Team Nurse, and Relief Charge Nurse at John Muir Medical Center's Magnet and Beacon Silver Award-designated MSICU in Concord, California. She also spent a decade providing remote eICU monitoring across the John Muir hospital system and earlier in her career served as a critical care travel nurse in New York, Connecticut, and California, as well as a staff nurse at Yale-New Haven Hospital. As the Owner and Operator of Bouchard Chung Legal Nurse Consulting LLC (founded 2020), Laura provides clinical insights on the nursing standard of care to both plaintiff and defense attorneys in medical malpractice and personal injury cases. She also serves as an Expert Practice Consultant for the California Board of Registered Nursing, conducting medical record reviews and preparing detailed reports. She is a published author of book chapters on IV infiltrates and patient falls, a conference presenter, and a recognized thought leader in legal nurse consulting.
