Mental Health Professional – Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Provided acute, short-term, chronic, and preventative mental health care to students and eligible members of the university community. Provided walk-in triage services and shared in on-call responsibilities. Member of the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) treatment team.

Social Services Provider II (LCSW) – Clinical Director. Supervised staff in the delivery of clinical services to placed children, adolescent boys, and their families. Served as a liaison with placement agencies as well as placed children and their families. Acted as a consultant with various community agencies to facilitate and utilize available resources.

Owner. Provided training and consulting services to law enforcement personnel directed towards issues of mental health. Served as a contract mental health professional with the State of Georgia Department of Public Safety – Office of Public Safety Support. Certified Guest Lecturer by the State of Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Council on the topics of law enforcement response to people with a mental illness and law enforcement mental health and self-care.

Unique combination of experience as a supervisory law enforcement professional and mental health professional. Extensive practical and administrative experience of best practices related to background investigations, hiring, training, supervision, promotion, retention, crisis and critical incident management, police misconduct and internal investigations. Additional training and investigative experience on topics of trauma, sexual harassment, use of force, civil rights violations, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints, veterans, mediation, courtroom testimony, depositions, and policy development and review. Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on law enforcement and mental health by the Collaborative Reform Initiative-Technical Assistance Center (CRI-TAC).

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Served as a Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) specialist advocating for criminally charged veterans to avoid the unnecessary criminalization of mental illness by ensuring that veterans had timely access to Veterans Health Administration (VHA) services as clinically indicated. Served as a clinical liaison for veterans receiving mental health and substance abuse services with contracted Community Service Boards (CSB). Served as a clinical liaison with the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program (EHVP) Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for veterans diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Social Services Provider I – Child and Adolescent Therapist - Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Provided individual, family, and group mental health and substance abuse services to clients. Served as member of the Habersham County Multi Agency Team for Children (MATCH) committee in the review and utilization of local resources to best serve clients and their respective families. Served as a member of the Habersham County Child Fatality Review Panel.

Supervision of police operations on an assigned shift as well as special unit assignments. Supervised and prepared records and reports related to shift activities and operations. Evaluation of subordinate’s performance and provided career counseling. Participated in administrative activities including budgetary planning and related matters. Personnel supervised were 7 police sergeants and 40 police officers. Assisted the City Attorney’s office with civil actions involving the City of Coral Gables and/or city employees. Maintained unit records in accordance with state records retention laws.
