Christopher Ryan

Christopher R. Ryan, P.E., D.G.E., is a highly qualified geotechnical engineering expert with over 40 years of specialized experience in underground construction technologies, soil mechanics, and groundwater control systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Civil Engineer degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all in Civil Engineering. Mr. Ryan is a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania (inactive-retired status) and a Diplomate of Geotechnical Engineering through the American Society of Civil Engineers Geo-Institute. He is a lifetime member of ASCE and an emeritus member of The Moles, demonstrating his sustained commitment to the engineering profession.

Mr. Ryan founded two successful specialty contracting firms—Geo-Con, Inc. in 1979 and Geo-Solutions Inc. in 1996—both of which developed international clientele for complex projects involving soil stabilization, groundwater barriers, hazardous waste remediation, and foundation support systems. Since establishing his independent consulting practice in 2014, he has provided expert technical support to owners, engineers, and contractors on high-stakes projects across the United States, helping to avoid millions of dollars in construction claims through his assessments of cost, feasibility, and differing site conditions.

As a litigation consultant, Mr. Ryan has extensive experience providing expert witness services in construction disputes. His assignments have included expert reports and trial testimony on differing site conditions claims, change orders, and patent disputes. Notable cases include successful arbitration support for a biopolymer drain construction claim in Walpole, Massachusetts, and trial testimony resulting in a full jury verdict for a marine dredging dispute in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Mr. Ryan has also authored numerous technical papers published through ASCE conferences and industry journals, establishing him as a recognized authority in geotechnical engineering and underground construction methodologies.
