Dr. Michael MacIntyre is a highly credentialed and experienced forensic psychiatrist with a strong background in evaluating mental health issues arising in legal cases. He completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. Dr. MacIntyre is board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
With an M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and a residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. MacIntyre has extensive clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry settings. He serves as an outpatient psychiatrist at the Veteran Affairs Los Angeles Healthcare System, supervising residents and fellows in forensic evaluations. Dr. MacIntyre is also a member of approved expert panels for the Superior Courts of Los Angeles, Sonoma, and Fresno Counties, conducting evaluations in criminal cases.
Dr. MacIntyre has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including articles in prestigious journals such as Behavioral Sciences and the Law, Psychiatry Research, and the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. He has presented his work at various conferences and grand rounds, further solidifying his expertise in the field. Additionally, Dr. MacIntyre has provided expert testimony in several high-profile trials and depositions, demonstrating his ability to communicate complex psychiatric concepts effectively in legal settings.
