Education
Jonathan White obtained a Master of Architecture from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2009, with a concentration in Inclusive Design. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the same institution in 2007.

Professional Experience
White has served as an Architectural Research and Design Associate at the Center for Inclusive Design and Environmental Access, State University of New York at Buffalo, since 2009. He has also held adjunct faculty positions at the same university, teaching graduate seminars and studio courses in the Departments of Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning between 2010 and 2014. Prior to his current role, he worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Center for Inclusive Design and Environmental Access from 2007 to 2009.
Technical Consulting
White has extensive experience in assessing compliance with accessibility requirements, such as the ADA, ICC/ANSI A117.1, FHAG, UFAS, and local accessibility codes. His consulting work includes field measurements, written reports, pre-construction analysis, plan review, technical advisement, and site inspections for various clients, including plaintiff attorneys, housing developers, legal counsel, and state agencies. He has worked on projects involving public accommodations, residential dwelling units, public parks, playgrounds, pools, libraries, public rights-of-way, university campuses, and retail stores.
Publications
White has contributed to several peer-reviewed conference papers, books, articles, and papers related to inclusive design, universal design, and accessibility standards. Notable publications include "Universal and Accessible Design" in the 12th edition of Architectural Graphic Standards and the book "Inclusive housing: A pattern book" co-authored with Edward Steinfeld.
Lectures and Conference Presentations
White has delivered numerous lectures and conference presentations on topics such as universal design, inclusive design, visitability, anthropometry of wheeled mobility, and accessibility guidelines. He has presented at various conferences, summits, webinars, and educational institutions, both nationally and internationally.
Research Experience
White's research experience includes the development of Universal Design Housing Standards, Stock Plans for Universal Design Housing, and innovative solutions for Universal Design (isUD). He has also served as a Project Coordinator for the IDeA Center Continuing Education Program and a Post-Occupancy Evaluation of Student Residential Life Facilities to improve Universal Design Standards for Public Buildings.
Professional Boards, Committees, and Memberships
White is a member of the American Institute of Architects and serves on the University at Buffalo Disability Action Committee and the Access Buffalo Advisory Council. He has also served as a non-voting advisor for the ICC/ANSI A117.1 Wheeled Mobility Task Group.
