Career
George Reis is a Certified Forensic Photographer (CFPh) and Certified Forensic Video Analyst (CFVA) specializing in imaging forensics. He has expertise in photographic and video analysis, which includes clarification and enhancement, image authentication, photographic/video comparison, and photography of evidence, scenes, and injuries.
Certifications and Memberships
Reis holds certifications from the International Association for Identification in Forensic Photography and Imaging. He is also certified in Forensic Video Analysis by the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA). He is an affiliate member of the Video/Image Technology Analysis Subcommittee (VITAL) in the Organization of Scientific Area Committees in Forensic Science (OSAC). In addition he is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Forensic Identification (JFI).
Work Experience
Reis has been the owner and operator of Imaging Forensics since 2004. Prior to that, he worked for the Newport Beach (California) Police Department from 1989 to 2004 as a Forensic Photographer, Photo and Video Analyst, and Crime Scene Investigator.
Training Experience
Reis has had hundreds of hours of training in the fields of forensic photography, image analysis, image authentication and video analysis. He maintains his certifications through continuing education in these fields every year.
Testimony Experience
Reis has testified over 90 times in depositions and in trials in Federal Courts, Military Court, and State Courts in 12 states.
