Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 1, 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, firm information), as well as usage data such as search queries, pages visited, and features used.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, process payments, communicate with you about your account, and personalize your experience. We may also use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who assist in operating the platform (e.g., payment processing, authentication, hosting) under strict confidentiality agreements.
4. Expert Profile Data
Expert profiles on Exlitem are compiled from publicly available court records, professional directories, and expert-submitted information. Experts may claim and manage their profiles through our onboarding process.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Session Recording
Essential cookies — used for authentication (Clerk) and session management. These are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
Google Analytics 4 — collects aggregated usage data including pages visited, search queries, device type, and approximate location (city-level). No personally identifying data is sent to Google. Used to understand traffic patterns and improve the Service.
Microsoft Clarity— records session replays and generates heatmaps so we can understand how users interact with the Service. Clarity captures mouse movement, scrolls, clicks, and DOM changes. Input fields are masked by default (passwords, payment fields, and fields marked sensitive); keystrokes in unmasked fields may be recorded. Personal data Clarity recognises (such as email addresses) is automatically masked per Clarity's defaults.
Your choice — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you accept on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You may withdraw consent at any time using the button below or by clearing site data in your browser.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will respond to requests within 30 days as required by applicable law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service.
